Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Manfred Rommel, geboren am 24. Dezember 1928 in Stuttgart, war von 1974 bis 1996 Oberbürgermeister seiner Geburtststadt. Nach dem Studium der Rechts- und Staatswissenschaften trat er 1956 in die Verwaltung des Landes Baden-Württemberg ein und wurde 1972 Staatssekretär im Stuttgarter Finanzministerium. 1998 erschienen die Lebenserinnerungen von Manfred Rommel unter dem Titel »Trotz allem heiter«.

Ich lese hin und wieder gerne darin und habe mein Reservoir an zu erzählenden Witzen auffrischen können. Menschen und Originale wie Manfred Rommel fehlen der heutigen Politik.
